Kamala Cloud update

Posted by: on Sep 13, 2013 in Morpheus | No Comments

A few months ago, we have released Kamala Cloud 2.0 including many new features such as the workspaces structure, major style refactoring and several authorization roles. Since then, we have upgraded Ontopia to 5.3.0, did some serious code clean-up and improved the workspaces and authorization roles.

Kamala CloudThe latest additions to Kamala are in the form of Chrome and Firefox add-ons. The add-ons open the Kamala Bookmarker on top of the current website and use the url to find matching topics in your topic maps. When a topic has been found, you can view the knowledge you already have about the topic and enrich it, without leaving the website. If no topic is found, you can create one on the spot.

The Chrome add-on can be found in the Web Store, the Firefox add-on can be downloaded from our Kamala Cloud website.

Workshops Semantic knowledge solutions

Morpheus is organizing a number of one-day workshops Semantic knowledge solutions about how knowledge applications can be developed within your organization. We show what the advantages are of gaining insight into your knowledge and sharing knowledge.

In the workshops our Kamala webapplication is used to model knowledge. Kamala is a web application for efficiently developing and sharing semantic knowledge and is based on the open source Topic Maps-engine Ontopia. Kamala is similar to the editor of Ontopia, Ontopoly, but more interactive and flexible because users require less knowledge of the Topic Maps data model in advance.

During a workshop, we will elaborate on several modeling aspects: meta-modeling in which knowledge is recorded in the ISO Topic Maps data model, the importance and strength of identification and merging within Topic Maps. The query language is also discussed and hands-on exercises provided. The participants learn how to develop a topic map themselves and experience how information is easily recorded and retrieved.

Participation in the workshops is free of charge, in addition you will receive teaching materials and three months free access to our Kamala software. All workshops are given on Landgoed Maarsbergen. The date of the next workshop is not yet known.

Would you like to be informed about upcoming workshops? Mail to workshops at mssm.nl.

Because Morpheus is one of the lead developers of Ontopia, we are encountering more customers beyond the borders of The Netherlands. To allow these potential customers to find their way to us, we now provide our website in two languages: Dutch and English.

Not all pages are finished yet, but we are working hard on getting them translated.
